What is an Independent Midwife? |

An Independent Midwife is a fully qualified midwife
who, in order to practice the midwife's role to it's fullest extent,
has chosen to work outside of the NHS in a self employed capacity,
although supporting it's aims and ideals. IMA Independent Midwives

Is Homebirth safe? |
| |
Research has found that home birth is as safe as hospital birth
for healthy women having a straightforward pregnancy. Also it shows
that women who choose to birth their babies at home are less
likely to have a Caesarean Section or interventions such as Episiotomy
