This is a message from Linda Hinchliffe Chair of the VBAC Group:
"Hello Folks, I run VBAC information & Support, a non-profit
charitable organisation that offers parents-to-be information regarding
VBAC. I have been running this group since my VBA>2C in 1990
- Since
then I have had a 3rd C/S then 3 x booked HB VBA>3C
- first of these being a transfer into hospital in labour and
the last 2 being homebirths in water - last one filmed for Sky's
HB series. Most of these people are looking for information because
they feel 'bullied', 'harassed', or 'intimidated' by their maternity
care providers. All VBAC does is give these people all the reverent
(and current) information so they can make a properly informed
choice as to how they want their baby to be born. Many of those who
contact us would like to have homebirths, and while there are some
excellent NHS midwives (I seem to have a collection of 6 who are
on call for me in March...) who are confident to attend
a VBAC at home, many areas in the UK have none, therefore these
parents would like to contact IM's(Independent Midwives) if
at all possible... Regards Linda Hinchliffe"

Mum of 7 - next one due March '07
Independent Midwives are very competent in VBAC/HBAC as we see
lots of women who have been told by their trust that they are reluctant
to support them in their choice of VBAC and whom then come to us.
If you have any Q's about this subject then please call or email
me or Linda and we will both offer advise in confidence.
